Dermal Filler Injections
Dermal filler is actually a natural carbohydrate called Hyaluronic Acid (HA) that is already a part of your body. It is a smooth gel made of a naturally occurring sugar substance in your skin that adds volume and hydration. Injections of the gel under the skin will immediately smooth away wrinkles and folds. It sticks to water to create a thickened gel that is used to plump or fill certain areas of your face and other areas of the body in need of extra padding.
Exposure to the sun, changes in hormone levels, and natural aging all have effects on your skin. In time, you will start losing hyaluronic acid and collagen, which is what cause the lines, wrinkles, and loss of fullness and firmness in your skin. We can now fix those wrinkles with dermal fillers to give you back that fullness of your face. Dermal filler injections are also a safe and effective substance to use in other parts of the body (such as the lips, chin, cheeks, etc.) to produce a fullness that has been diminished with age, or as a beauty enhancement method. Hyaluronic Acid can make your lips look full again, enhance the contours of your face, fill in wrinkles, and help remove scars. Cheeks can be made full again, nose damage can be fixed, and you can even get injections in certain areas of your face that will make your face look more youthful.
Dermal Filler Injections are different from Botox in the area and method that they are administered. Botox for cosmetic purposes is used on the upper area of the face, to smooth wrinkles around the forehead and the eyes (crow’s feet) to temporarily paralyze the muscles that result in wrinkles. Dermal Fillers, on the other hand, work to plump and fill in areas of the lower and mid face that have increasingly lost collagen,or to provide additional needed symmetry. When combined together, Botox and Dermal Filler Injections can provide a remarkably younger looking appearance.
